One of my many projects going on at the moment is a cardigan for my MIL. I just call her mom, so if you read 'mom', I mean her! I bought a bunch of dark gray, with light gray weaved in, yarn for this from Knit Picks. I had to get a acrylic blend, as she has to have very soft yarn or fabric against her skin, but Knit Picks has the most amazing yarn and some of the softest!! Even 100% acrylic feels like a cloud!! It's so great to work with and feels amazing as a garment or blanket. I've made several :)
I'm all for buying local yarn and supporting local businesses but I don't have anything local, except Walmart and JoAnn's. Which isn't bad, I buy a lot of yarn from there too! But Knit Picks had the color, amount and a very good price!! I'll get back to the subject I wanted to talk about. If you'd like to look into it more, KnitPicks really is amazing!!
The cardigan... I have made it past the arm holes and sectioned them off. I am now working on the body. It is kind of slow going, more repetitive than anything. I don't mind, I am excited to finish it!! I really hope she likes it and can wear it. I wanted it to be for Christmas but gave her a blanket instead. This cardigan will be for her Birthday! I'm using a pattern I found from someone I follow on Ravelry. She's is really good. I'll link the pattern page down below. She has several patterns!
I'm thinking I'll be done with it by the end of the month. I don't work on it everyday and I should. Her birthday is in April, so I have plenty of time :) Plus I want to make her some leg warmers to match!
I've been blabbering long enough for now. I hope everyone has a great day!
